Often when we speak of having family portraits done, our thoughts go immediately to our children, siblings or parents. Often our pets are an after thought, and yet they are often like children in many households. We love all kinds of pets whether you have large horses or small snakes we are up to the task. Here is a recent session we did with a special “little” lady and her Grandparents. These were a surprise for Mommy for Christmas. We sure enjoyed having Molly in studio, she was a real sweetheart.

Artistic Newborn Photography – Fraser Valley
Firstly let me apologize for our lack of blog posting recently. We were incredibly busy up to the holidays, and thank each of you so much for your love and support. Because we have done so many shoots since our last blog, we have decided to post samples of these by type rather than individually. As always there are several that we cannot post, but please know that those are close to our hearts too.
Babies, babies, babies…. We love our babies. We have had the honour of creating several beautiful baby portraits over the last few months. Here are a few samples.
**Models Needed** We are looking for newborn models, to show off all the new props we have in the studio, and have a couple of spaces left. Babies must be less than 14 days old and images are to be used for advertising purposes. You will get our 3 hour Newborn session along with a disk of 5 fully edited and retouched images for print. email: info@dreamshots.ca if you are interested.

Fall Family Portrait & Christmas Card Special

We are so pleased to announce the winners of our first Annual Fresh Faces Contest. There were four categories, Maternity, Newborn, Children and Family.
The winner in our Maternity Category is Shalaine Watson. Shalaine is receiving a Dreamcatcher Card which entitles her to unlimited Simply Me Sessions for one year, and a $300 gift certificate. This will come in handy with the arrival of her precious little Dominic. Congratulations Shalaine.
The winner in our Newborn Category is Carlisa Smith. Carlisa is receiving a Dreamcatcher Card which entitles her to unlimited Simply Me Sessions for one year, and a $300 gift certificate. I’m sure she will get a lot of use out of the card with the arrival of her adorable son Dylan. Congratulations Carlisa.
The winner in our Children’s category will also be receiving the Dreamcatcher Card and a $300 Gift Certificate. Congratulations to Lorri Harder who brought her adorable Grandbabies to our studio and is the winner in the Children’s category.
And last but certainly not least, congratulations to Rajdeep Kheva who won the Family category and will also be receiving the Dreamcatcher Card and a $300 Gift Certificate. Rajdeep brought the whole family to the studio, and while we were rained out for the outdoor portion of her session, we did manage to get beautiful portraits of her family indoors.

Helping Hearts
Did you know that we are a volunteer photographer for an organization called Helping Hearts. Helping Hearts is an organization that links professional photographers with families who have a child who is 16 years and under, and has a life altering illness or disability. We provide these famillies with a FREE session and free images as these families are usually under financial strain due to their child’s condition. It is wonderful to be able to use our talents in such a rewarding cause.
We recently did a Helping Hearts session for the Robinson’s. Their family welcomed the new addition of Morgan at only 32 weeks gestation and only 3 lbs 6 ounces on May 16, 2011. We met them all in June at the Abbotsford Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit were she had just passed the 5 lb mark. She is a real cutie and definitely a fighter. We are so happy to report that as of last week she is now over 6lbs and has been moved to the Pediatric ward. Her family is overjoyed at the prospect of her arrival home any day now.

New Studio Opens
We did it. We are so excited to announce that the doors to our new studio are open. While we have a few finishing touches still to make we are fully operational. We have been busy over the last few weeks with studio sessions, however due to weather we have had to reschedule many outdoor studio sessions. To ensure that everyone has a chance to have their sessions completed, we are extending our Fresh Faces Contest until July 31st. So if you haven’t already scheduled your appointment, call us soon as space is limited.

Hello Baby Dylan-Newborn Photography
Congratulations to the Smith Family on the arrival of their son Dylan. As you can see from the attached images, he is absolutely adorable.
We’ve had a great time with his sessions so far. His mom purchased a Dreamcatcher card with her maternity session and now the family has unlimited Simply Me Sessions for one full year. What a fantastic way to capture Dylan’s first year. Cards are available to purchase with any session for only $69 or $119 a la carte.
We will be launching The Dreamshots Studios First Annual Cutest Kids Search within the next few weeks. We need some new faces for the walls of our new studio and it could be your son or daughter that wins. Welcome to all of our friends, old and new….
Well after much procrastination, I have finally started our new blog. For all of you who know me well, you know that writing is not where I excel in life. So please have patience…LOL.
We have been so busy over the last few months as we work on our new studio. It is so exciting to be drawing near the end of our journey into the mysteries of renovations. I found that I often underestimated the amount of time and resources that were required for specific tasks. Like the photography industry, there is much more behind each task than I ever imagined. It was an excellent reminder to me that we need to ask more questions when hiring trades or services to see what the true scope of the project will be, exactly what is included for the price, and the skill or expertise of the specialist providing the service.
Stay tuned as we get closer to re-opening at our new location…
